Everybody loves having flowers around the house so here are a few tips to help keep yours looking fresh and lovely for longer:-
Food
Don’t just throw away the accompanying small packet that the online florist sends with your flower delivery; this packet contains a mixture of simple sugars that act as a food source to help your plants grow.
Water
Make sure you store your blooms in warm water rather than cold, as the extra warmth helps to transport nutrients more efficiently. Furthermore, always be sure to keep open stems under water as much as possible, especially when moving them from one vessel to another. Always be sure to give your flowers fresh water every two days rather than just topping up existing water levels.
Cutting
When putting your flowers in a vase, cut off all leaves that will be below the water level as these can often be a source of bacterial growth. In addition, cutting the stems at a 45 degree angle will help to increase the available surface area for water uptake. Always cut about an inch off of the bottom of the stems every time you give fresh water. If you would like to have more beautiful blooms dotted around your home then make us here at eFlorist your first port of call.
